Purpose: Independent study at UCONN on teen dating violence legislation throughout the country. Study was so well acclaimed throughout Connecticut that the National Association of Social Workers requested I present my findings and recommendations at their annual conference in 2008.

Making Women Visible Day
Purpose: To promote economic justice for women at Permanent Commission on the Status of Women's (PCSW) Making Women Visible Day at the State Capitol.
Role: Requested to speak as the guest speaker after PCSW heard me testify at a public hearing. Presented along with Richard Blumenthal, Susan Bysiewicz, Christopher Donovan, and James Amann.

Purpose: Attend panel discussion about human trafficking with Gloria Steinem at the Brooklyn Museum on December 13, 2008.

"Tainted Love" Norwich Free Academy Production
Purpose: Collaboration with Norwich Free Academy students to produce a variety show called "Tainted Love " to raise awareness on domestic violence and serve as a fundraiser for the Safe Futures (Formerly the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut). Attorney General Richard Blumenthal participated in this event on 2/4/06.
Role: Collaborated with students to coordinate event, educated students on domestic violence, supervised their efforts, presented at "Tainted Love," and coordinated students to speak on Jammin 107.7 talk radio to promote event.

Sexual Assault Training
Purpose: Twenty hour training for Safe Futures (Formerly the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut) counselors on responding to the needs of sexual assault survivors.
Role: Educator. Prepared training, speakers, and materials.

Counting Crows Concert
Purpose: To raise awareness on domestic violence and Safe Futures (Formerly the Women's Center of Southeastern Connecticut) services.
Role: Worked with Nicole Duritz, the lead singer's sister, to coordinate Safe Future's presence and set-up an agency booth at the concert to promote domestic violence awareness and Safe Future services. Adam Duritz made a public announcement in front of thousands of people in support of Safe Futures.

Purpose: To educate 55 teenage girls at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum about personal safety.
Role: Served at the primary coordinator and worked in a team to coordinate event. Developed the agenda, presented at the event, solicited schools, arranged transportation, and organized free food sponsored by the Mashantucket Museum.
